The TRICARE Retiree Dental Program
The TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) is a PPO (preferred provider organization) benefit program. Since the inception of the program in 1998, the TRDP has grown to over 1.5 million members nationwide. Two national networks, Delta Dental Legion and Delta Dental PPOSM (DPO in Texas), comprise the participating TRDP dentist network.
Enrollees in the TRDP are strongly encouraged to seek treatment from a participating TRDP network dentist. Since they pay 100% of the premium for their TRDP coverage, enrollees count on optimum program value and quality dental care—both of which they will get when their dental treatment is provided by one of our participating TRDP network dentist.
Our military retirees have given many years of service to our nation. Your participation in the TRDP network is a meaningful way to demonstrate to our 1.5 million TRDP enrollees and others in your community how much you value their service to our country.
The registration process for the Dental Office Toolkit (DOT) has recently changed.
We will no longer process duplicate claims or send EOBs for any duplicate claims submitted. This policy is applicable to all federal dental programs administered by Delta Dental’s FGP division.
Reminder for dentists: Correct use of your Type 1 NPI helps ensure accurate electronic claims processing
Here are some steps to take if you’re experiencing ongoing denials of your electronic claims because of an issue with your Type 1 NPI.
The newest version of the American Dental Association® (ADA) Code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature (CDT Code) is effective January 1, 2016. Please use 2016 CDT Code when submitting claims to Delta Dental for services you provide on or after January 1, 2016.
To enhance claims processing timeliness and efficiency, Delta Dental will no longer issue Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements for duplicate claims.

Effective January 1, 2015 when calling our Customer Service toll-free number, our agents will no longer be available to assist with verification of patient eligibility and benefits. There are quicker, more convenient options available to you.
Please remember to use the actual completion date (or “seat” date) for services such as crowns, bridges, dentures and root canals that require multiple stages or appointments to be completed.
