Wednesday, November 11 is the day to honor U.S. military veterans
On Wednesday, November 11, Delta Dental and the TRDP invite all Americans to join us in saluting the tens of millions of living U.S. military veterans who have fought to protect and uphold our nation’s freedom and democracy.
In the U.S, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Originally known as Armistice Day when Congress first declared it a legal holiday in 1938, November 11 is now celebrated as Veterans Day and is a day that has been set aside each year to honor military personnel who served the U.S. in all wars and to thank them for their patriotism and sacrifice.
Some of the activities taking place throughout the country to commemorate Veterans’ Day include various parades, church services and other ceremonies. In many places, the American flag is hung at half mast in honor of those who served.
