Transition to Retirement

The transition to retirement can create many challenges. Luckily, discussing benefits with retiring service members is easy when TRDP is an option.

Benefits Advisors

Helping you help retirees

Benefit Advisors, Transition Assistance Program personnel and other installation staff who regularly come in contact with Uniformed Services retirees play an important role in informing the military community about the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP). Let the TRDP help with the transition with few tips and resources that may assist pre-retirees and retirees who are enrolled or considering the TRDP:

  • Use our brief training video when you need to inform pre-retirees, retirees and their family members on their dental benefits. This presentation can be shown at transition assistance programs and pre-retirement seminars as well as retiree appreciation events.
  • Have enough TRDP materials for distribution. Brochures, fact sheets, and other informational materials are available for ordering online or through your TRDP regional marketing representative.
  • Be sure to have copies of both the Enhanced and Basic Program Benefits Booklets available for reference. Although only the Enhanced Program booklet is applicable to new enrollees, a large number of retirees still remain enrolled in the Basic Program. The differences between the plans can be distinct. Both booklets are available online.
  • Encourage enrollees to visit a participating TRDP network dentist. It will save them money and allow them to get the best value from their dental program. A list of participating TRDP network dentists in the enrollee's local area can be obtained using our online Dentist Directory.
